28 Years. Five Chapters. One Mission.
From selling internet connectivity when no one knew what email was, to rebuilding my entire working life with AI. Here's the full story.
Building the Intelligence
Midfield Group → Talent Lab
It started with an AI-powered IDE and a blank canvas. I taught myself to code agentically and discovered I could build production-ready systems that would normally need a dev team. I transitioned Midfield Group into a consultancy helping companies navigate the AI landscape. But recruitment kept pulling me back. I enjoyed the work, hated the process. Inefficient, reactive, built on guesswork. A perfect environment for innovation. So I built something different. TalentLab profiles AI and ML engineers from GitHub, published research, and patent filings, not just LinkedIn. A significant proportion of the pool have profiles too thin to surface in any keyword search — they are only visible because the platform reads the evidence trail, not just the CV. The system gets smarter every week. It reads what engineers built, not what they claim. And it lets me work in a way that is fundamentally different from traditional recruitment.
I built something most recruiters can't
Not a database. A platform that profiles engineers from GitHub, published research, and patents. The pool includes engineers invisible to keyword search. The system reads what they built, not what they claim.
Verticals are different, engineering is the same
The same career patterns and motivations cross every vertical. That insight shapes everything I do.
I'm usually there before the competition
I have visibility across the market that lets me move early. By the time most recruiters are searching, I've already had the conversation.
Fit matters more than keywords
Skills get you in the door. But the best hires happen when the company and the person actually match on what matters.
